At Surf or Sound we understand that first impressions are lasting impressions. We continually work with our cleaners and inspectors as well as special services such as our linen provider and pool and spa vendors to ensure that your guest arrives to a home that is clean and ready for their vacation enjoyment. We begin each year with a comprehensive inspection of your home, which will report to you any issues that may negatively affect the enjoyment of your guests. We perform a deep spring clean on each home at a pre-quoted rate so each home starts the rental season in optimal condition. For those owners who choose to perform their own spring clean we provide a detailed checklist and complimentary free inspection to assure that your home meets or exceeds the standards that guests have come to expect from Surf or Sound.
We strive to use the same cleaners in each home each week as well as for spring cleaning. Our pool and spa vendors are held to the same inspecting and reporting standards for the outside areas of the home as our cleaners are for the interior areas.
We offer an optional mid-week and/or check-out cleaning service for those guests who would like either an additional touch or would prefer not to do any cleaning at the end of their stay. We even provide a small appliance emergency replacement service at no additional charge until we can get the malfunctioning appliance repaired or replaced.
Finally, we seek weekly feedback through the use of our guest surveys so that we can continually assess and improve our performance.
Maintenance
In order to keep your property in peak condition and respond quickly to emergencies we provide a full-service maintenance department with 24-hour emergency service. Our highly-skilled technicians with fully-equipped trucks are able to handle most maintenance issues without the use of outside vendors, which saves money for our homeowners. For repairs that require a licensed technician, we maintain relationships with professionally licensed contractors who work closely with Surf or Sound and are able respond quickly to the needs of our homeowners. We begin each year with a comprehensive maintenance inspection of your home. Our inspection will specify items that need immediate attention as well as those that will need attention within the next year or two to keep you informed and prepared so that we can keep your home guest-ready. As part of our maintenance service we can also refer contractors to address major service issues as well as renovations and/or additions to your home.
We hold our pool and spa vendors to higher standards than any other management company on Hatteras Island. All of our pool and spa vendors have their CPO certification and are members of the National Swimming Pool Foundation. But what really separates our service is how we manage the cleaning process. Our vendors perform a mid-week pool vacuum at no additional charge in addition to the standard mid-week chemical check offered by most companies. Not only do we provide a superior pool and spa service, we provide it at an excellent value.
Emergency Storm Preparation
Because of the unpredictable weather on the Outer Banks, Surf or Sound provides a complete storm preparation service to our homeowners at a minimal cost. After the storm we will prepare your home for rental again as soon as possible as well as contact you with a damage report and assist with repairs if necessary.
