With the growing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs), there are charging stations set up throughout the Outer Banks and Hatteras Island, perfect for recharging your vehicle for your next adventure. If you are traveling to the island in an electric vehicle, take note of the chargers available to you both on your drive to the island, and while you are here! Surf or Sound Realty even has homes with EV charging stations for maximum convenience so you can relax and recharge during your stay!

EV Charging Stations on Hatteras Island

There are multiple public charging stations on Hatteras Island:

  1. Two DC Fast chargers in the Avon Pier parking lot
  2. A Level 2 station in the parking lot of Kitty Hawk Kites in Rodanthe
  3. A Level 2 station by the Buxton Woods trailhead
  4. A Level 2 station can be found at Hatteras Landing

Both are owned by Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative and are the ChargePoint Brand. There is a fee to use these stations, which can be paid through the ChargePoint app.

Another option is the Tesla charger and public charger owned by the Inn on Pamlico Sound found in Buxton.
