Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. Please have everything packed up and vacate the home by 10:00 a.m. so that we may begin preparing the home for the next guest. All keys must be returned to our office to avoid a $10 (per key) lost key charge.
Failure to vacate the property by 10 a.m. will result in an additional charge.
Refundable Security Deposits
While making your reservation, you may have paid a refundable security deposit of $3,000 as security against damage and/or theft determined to have been caused during your stay. You will be notified following inspection if damage exists. Otherwise, your security deposit will be returned in the weeks following your departure.
Left Something Behind?
We will be happy to retrieve and return items you have left behind in you rental home. There is a $25 handling fee in addition to whatever shipping charges may apply. Please note: Surf or Sound Realty is not responsible for items left behind.
If you decide to leave before 8:30 a.m., please let our office know by calling or texting us at 252.995.5801.
If your home has keys, please leave your keys in the drop box on our front porch.
Please be sure to follow these check-out procedures:
▪ Close and lock all doors, windows, and sliders
▪ Empty the dishwasher and remove all trash from the home.
▪ Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer and wipe out any spills.
▪ Please clean the outside grill and replace cover if provided.
▪ Check bedroom closets and drawers for personal items. Fold and return any blankets used to the closets.
▪ Check bathroom cabinets for personal items. Remove soaps, shampoos, etc.
▪ Remove personal items from outside shower(s) and remove trash from decks and outdoor areas.
▪ Clean up and dispose of any dog waste.
▪ Remember to report any damages that occurred during your stay to the office so the appropriate claims can be completed.
If staying multiple weeks, a mid-stay clean is available for a fee. Call our office for an estimate.
